| vintage motorcycle vin number | | | | I have a old 70's honda motorcycle & the neck of the motorcycle where the vin number was located was rusted & the vin number is not there any more. Is the vin number on the engine the same as the vin on the frame . I need to know what to do about this problem because I can't get insurance on this motorcycle without a vin number to give them. Thank you for your time . Waylon | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | No, the vin n0. and engine no. are different. If you contact the vehicle registration authorities they should be able to re-authorise the vehicle, this would probably mean leaving it with a dealer who can do the required paperwork and then replate it for you. It might also mean having to pay for a construction and use test and having it registered as a new vehicle.---Pete. | | | | | | | | | | Motorcycle Parts & More Buy Direct & SAVE - Don't Overpay!
