I smoke and am seriously thinking of quitting again... I have the Zyban tablets in my cupboard but have heard a few bad things about them. I just don't have the willpower on my own and have tried lots of things including patches, gum, hypnosis and cold turkey. Any suggestions are accepted haha.

One of my old girlfriends used Zyban tablets and she told me that they worked really well for her. 2 days ago i decided to quit cold turkey and so far i am doing ok! I think that the support that you recieve here will aid you with your will power!

I saw that you have quit on one of your discussions. I am still at the stage of "I should do it...maybe I will...oh I don't know" I have had the zyban in my drawer for a couple of months. The doctor seems to think they will help so maybe I will give it a try. Hope you continue to stay off the smokes. I have a bad lung condition too and smoking is not helping.

I had a friend, and he said it wasn't good for him. I think the best way to quit, is cold turkey. But, it must be a deep desire to do it, as it is so addictive. Good luck dear.

My husband quit cold turkey about 13 years ago. I gave up for 2 days at the same time...what a failure... anyway I've regularly given up for about 2 days etc. I keep saying that I am stressede at the moment etc and when things are easier I'll do it. I am just silly really.

I'm curious to see what others have done with Zyban too. I talked to my doctor before about getting some and he said to wait until I'm ready because it is considered a medication that has to have time to kick in and then time to gradually withdraw from.

As a confirmed non smoker, I'm afraid I'm not much help in this department, but my friends at work that are smokers, know if they need someone to nag them about giving up they just have to give me the word... lol .. so missy if you need someone to nag you about giving up just call :D (joking) All the best and you have my support. *hugs*

My doctor offered to give me Zyban and I told him I had heard bad reports about it. He assured me it was perfectly safe. I was taking antibiotics at the time, and he said I would have to finish these first. However, after I finished my medication, I never brought up the subject again, so he forgot about it. I have tried the acupuncture and I found this worked, but after a couple of years, I just decided that I wanted to smoke, and here I am, puffing like a chimney.

The best way to quit smoking is take your time and prepare your self to quit. Try to check what smoking is doing to you and others.
It will need a lot of streight and will, but you will be thankful later on.
Check my blog on how smoking is affecting and how you will feel as soon as you quit.

How goes this?
Are you right now?
I suppose working 30+ hours per week will take some of the smoking time off you rofl.
