I have 3 brothers and 1 sister and all of them leave the responsibility of taking care of our parents to me. They all say they are too broke for whatever I might need help with, they don't have time to come around very often but do talk to them on the phone everyday. I miss work for doctors appointments, I get up at 4am for work, get home around 4pm and immediately am told my mother needs to go to the store (she doesnt drive) or to wherever she needs to go and it is late in the evening before i even sit down. almost everyday. If I even look like I don't want to do it she pouts and gets angry. slams doors, etc stays in her bedroom and snaps my head off when i try to talk to her. My husband works nites and by the time i am thru running around with her he has gone to work and i leave before he gets home. Vicious circle. I love my parents dearly and they have only recently moved to my town (3 years ago) Until them they lived 400 miles away. I don't mind helping them but I am sooooo tired and no one will pitch in but let my mother complain to them about something and THEN they want to say something. Any suggestions?

well yes, you may want to figure out their financial situation and see about maybe hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant Or talking with your siblings about pitching in to pay for a CNA. If they can not physically help the parents then they should at least try to help financially, a CNA is not very expensive. You can find one for $10.00 an hour even...even if it is to have them take parents to the doctor appt or what not.
There are ways to have groceries delivered to the home although that does not get your folks out of the house it fulfills the need of getting their ammenities so you can schedule your time better. There is also senior community help centers in each community that can also provide assistance check online through a search engine...good luck to you
