Any ideas on how to keep my cat off my kitchen table and counters?  |

|  He just walks wherever and whenever he wants. He is definately spoiled, but being the center of attention gets really old when I'm trying to cook dinner and he just tries to walk up and sniff what is sitting on the counter! He's cute, but maybe not THAT cute! lol.

| |  Squirt bottle full of water. Keep it handy in the kitchen, every time he jumps up on the counter, pick it up an squirt him in the face. Keep squirting until he gets off the counter. Once he is on the floor, stop squirting and say "good cat" (assuming he is still in the room and can hear you). Eventually, he will associate the counters with the water and know to stay off them... at least when you are in the room.

| | This is an excellent suggestion, and I have used water bottles to train cats before... but here's the problem. My cat doesn't mind water! He actually will sleep in the bathroom sink, and plays with bubbles when I take a bath. he's very unusual! lol. | | | |

| |  I am with Theproperator on this one. Squirt bottle is the best. Only watch your kids with it if you have any kids. My daughter thought it would be great to squirt the cat just to see it run! Also watch your husband with this one. Mine is as mean as the kids.

| |  I remember reading somewhere that they dont like the noise aluminum foil makes or the way it feels to walk on it. And that to keep them off of counters and the like put sheets of aluminum foil up there. They will freak out when they hit it and jump down. After they get used to it being there and quit jumping you can take it down. I myself have never tried it, but I suppose it seams reasonable.

| |  Get a spray bottle and every time you see him on the counter, give him a good spray. It worked for my cat when we still had her and it also works to get your dogs to shut up for all those people who have yappy dogs.

| |  I need to try that I have a very yappy pomeranian he doesnt bark at people very often but hes making a nervous wrek out of my toy chihuahuas he barks at them non stop if they dont pay attention to themor if he wants to play and they don't it drives me insane as well
