Don't you think that this is a stupid thing only ?
Generally in india, the parents dis-allow their children who they think uncultural, spolied with personality or by thoughts.
Probabally your parents settled down in america just before your birth and also they are the first in your family tree , who have joined america first.
Do not worry, try to make them understand. and also think what they have said to you, may be they are correct sometimes.

Me per se, I've never hated America. Why should I? There are many things we can look up to, to this nation. I too have my share of dislikes against America as for some facets, but that would never mean I hate it, since every nation has got its share of shortcomings, including mine.
However, I too have friends who hate America and Americans. And what I've noticed is that the reason revolves around the American bullying of the world affairs. They feel the Americans actually do not deserve the supremacy they currently enjoy.
The gang of call-centre employees in India are definitely wary of the Americans. According to them, Americans are racist, and more so, stubborn and most of the customers are dumb! They look down upon Indians. I don't know the truth though. No personal experience.
