i finished a bachelor degree in marine biology and right after graduation i worked as a research assistant for about a year on a joint project of Philippines and Netherlands which was way too farout from my course - its about soil science. i enjoyed it though because i get to travel a lot, climbing mountains 2,000meters above sea level ( and falling, rolling down a lot too :D), going into forest lands to get soil samples which i had to analyze in the laboratory for some physical and chemical parameters. my second job was with the government. this time i get to practice my training in school because i get to be a real marine biologist, diving seas, doing underwater survey and research, establishing marine protected areas. it was soo cool! even if its not really compensating salary-wise but i love what i do for almost 2 years now. (i happened to just quit my job 2 weeks ago, though i love what i do. im not happy with the organization im with. well..so now im not working nor applying for another job yet cause im kind of deciding to pursue a graduate studies this next sem.) so guys, share what ur doing for a living.ü

i also finished a degree in biology, but i majored in premed studies. i also know some people in my department who work in the joint Phil-Netherleands project. its nice, getting a job that you studied for and you love. i would love to join orgs like greenpeace or WWF, although it would be impossible for me right now since im studying nursing :( its really great that you managed to work in the field. some people would think that diving for a job is really cool!

Hi. I finished my studies in PLM (manila), with a degree of BS Manufacturing Engineering. During our final year, we are all required to have OJTngs to companies so i end up in one plastic manufacturing as purchasing assistant. After one month they promoted me to Purchasing officer and then absorbed me after my graduation and working with chinese company is not a very good experience to me. ASide from the fact the they pay so less, they requires a lot of work. So BUt i learned a lot from that company. After that work, like for 6 mos, i quit and found job in the same field but I was disappointed, they made me a clerk and i almost blew up their system...i have no interest in entering data, i want a challenging job. SO another company hired me, also plastic mfg, they pay a lot better esp with the over time BUT the work is so exhausting because I'm working as plant engineer. After almost a year i quit and found my way to AVON plant with position Project Industrial Engineer. After 6 months again, i received a very good offer in one furniture manufacturing, they pay is very very good so quit working in avon (aside from the fact that avon is located in Laguna and i'm living in Manila) so i sacrifice my good future in avon. After that, i was so pissed of with my new job because of politics in our company, then Fil-Pacific apparels (makers of Jag jeans) hired me with much better offer so agter 4 months in the furniture co, i joined Fil-picific. Then, my sister convinced me to work abroad, first, after a month at jag, I flew to Bahrain and got a teaching job. they pay is very good for a half day work and even earn for tutorials. After 7 months, one textile manufacturing company hired me as GM Coordinator, now I'm an Assistant Marketing Manager technically but my work is still in production planning. Pretty long huh...that's within the range of Oct 2002 until today... I have a very sad life, havent' I???

i think were on the same field, marine biology... aahhh did i mentione that we were classmates in college? LOLZ... you know my working history but for the others here it is... after graduation, i was employed in a food manufacturing company but after months i was fired! boom!won't tell you what happened.. anyways, after that i enrolled into graduate studies and did a couple of volunteering works... after 2 years in graduated studies which i didnt finish *winks*, i was employed in a non-government organization whose thrust is on coasta and fisheries resource management. there i got to practice what i learned in school and was able to travel to many different places which some of my friends were envious.. for almost two years i was employed in that organization but when my contract ended, i decided not to renew so now, im working online through writing and looking for another job here in our place...

Wow Mayenskie, compliments of your studies, they are really interesting, marine biology, wow.... You chose really an exciting profession, I can't say the same, I'm a civil servant, I hate my boring work, but I am married and I have a son, so I have to go on going to work even if I don't like it. How ever I have a lot of hobbies, so, when I am not at work I can devote myself to the thing I love more.
