If we are soo smart, then why is the Earth heading towards destruction?

Yes, too smart. And irresponsible. We failed to circumspect what we have been doing for the past years. The geniuses and dumb people alike have abused their authority over mother nature. It's as if we can created our own artificial world and discard all the natural things around us. I'm afraid that we cannot put end to this natural calamity. True enough, nature has its own way of replenishing itself ONLY if we cooperate. But how would it be possible if the rest of humanity was preoccupied with poverty, hunger, greed, wars and illness? The problems that could have been mitigated in its initial phase seemed too large to contain. It has accumulated because we haven't heed the signs. We are on the brink of doom. the question is, can we go back when we are reaching the point of no return?

well it is not that we r smart and we r heading towards destruction. man has always been smart in all ages that is y he has been able to face many kinds of diasters, natural calamities and all that. also it is because he is smart man is postponing the end of earth . if he was not smart human species would have ended long back. he is able to creaste changes and accomodate for all the human population and at the same time trying to find new ways to adapt to the changes.so i think it is only cuz man is smart he is able to adjust to any kind of change and live successfully.
