For me it is an amazing experience each time I take it to read again (already read 5 times), always "getting" something new I let go through before...
The whole AI thing, everything is just incredible. And althought things don't seem to be getting as far as described, Gibson "coined" the term "cyberspace" and it's meaning, so most of what we do online has his hand, that just makes it more and more amazing!

Even more amazing is that Gibson knew almost nothing about computers when he wrote it. In fact, he didn't even use one until Mona Lisa Overdrive.

I do love this book, but it could have used some humor. The whole thing is almost too bleak, too dour, too wrenching to read again.

I read it 3 times already, and still think the book is one of the best I ever read. (ok, 2, one I can't count, english is not my main language, so the first time I read I got quite lost and such, but the book has no translation to portuguese until now)

But I must admit, some humor would be welcome!:)

I´ve got the book translated to spanish, perhaps you could understand more of it reading portuguese, because of the common branch of our tongues.
I don´t know if the book has been translated to portuguese, but i suspect it may be... it´s from the 80 and a prized book, so i find it very probable.

I've just started reading the the book, and I'm loving it. I've alwayes been fascinated by the cyberpunk universe, from movies like blade runner and RPG Scenarios. It's a great experience to see how it all started

I loved the book ever since i´ve got it, i´ve read it in spanish and english, i must say the translation it´s very good.
But indeed it´s always more plesure to read it in the language it´s been written originaly.
William Gibson, it´s a very good writer, and it´s mixture of sci-fi and black cinema/politial novel it´s just great.
He created the term Cyberspace and Matrix as we know it today, Neuromancer even got the Hugo and Nebula prizes, so that speaks good of it.
I love the cyberpunk genre of books, and without William Gibson, one of the founders of it there will be no cyberpunk, at least as we use to know.
Jonnhy Mnemonic, another book of the same writer, it´s has been made a film, and the script was made by Gibson itself, if you liked the book, or cyberpunk in general, you would like the movie, Keanu Reeves did the part of Jonnhy Mnemonic, almost a coincidence since he also is Neo from Matrix, and among other sources of inspiration, the trilogy is for sure cyberpunk themed, and perhaps, the most known of the genre itself.
