In my own opinion, it really won't be good for you and your kid if you'll leave him just to somebody. Where is the mother of your child anyway? If you really need to work abroad for your son's future then you should leave him with his mother not just with somebody.

You know what, there will be a day when your son will go against you and it depends on you how to handle when that situation comes so you don't have to worry for that one right now.

All you have to think of now is who will you entrust your son to when you left. Of course it should be "somebody" you and your kid should trust and be comfortable with. Somebody who can love your son the way you are loving him, somebody who is a good person for your kid because as he grows up that person will be the one he will look up to.

hi floresalex23,

in my own opinion, there's nothing else would be better if you see your child growing-up and to know what kind of a person he/she would like to be in the future. 0-13 years of age is a very delicate year coz this is their formative years and the child needs proper supervision both from the mom and the dad.

but sometimes reality bites...one of the parents(or even both of them) has to go abroad for work for financial reasons. unemployment is also a big factor that's why this has to happen. and salary wise, you're well compensated if you work in abroad.

leaving your child with somebody who you could trust will be an option. but be sure that a child will be on the right hand. in most cases they are left with their grandparents.

children with parents working abroad are now lucky because there's is now internet where they can keep in touch through emails and they can even see each other through a webcam. unlike in our times that only sending letters through posts was the only means of getting in touch with our parents and it took even a month before it gets to your hand.

I think that the best time to work abroad is when you are still single, without a child.it is different to be separated from your child.you might be missing out on things because you work abroad.on the other hand, much better if you explain to the child why you will work abroad.s/he might not understand it at first, but eventually s/he will.explain that your decision is because you want a good life for him/her.promise him/her that you will keep in touch.

yes it's better if you work abroad if you're still single coz you'll have all the time in the world. all the single ladies/gentlemen out there working abroad, save your money (coz it's hard earned money)so that when you settle down you are at least stable and financially secured.

hi nicejah,

pesonally i grew up with both my parents working abroad and i did not end up to be rebellious. me and my brother grew up with our grandparents(and they should be given a proper credit for that) and they really take good care of us. i remember they would always say to us to be more understanding on why both our parents has to leave us. you know it's just a matter of explaining to him that you just want to give him bright future and it doesn't mean that because you leave him, you don't love him.
