For a while now i have been thinking about migrating to Australia! It has been my dream to have a nice big house by the beach with 90% sunshine and friendly people everywhere you go. A more laid back, relaxed life down under sounds so perfect! Or is it? Without a doubt i am very proud to be English and i'll always know where i came from and who i am, i just feel that there could be a better life out there for me and my family! I want my children to have beautiful, clean beaches to play on and i know that a life in the sun would make me very happy. Do you really think there could be a better life in Australia or do you think that it doesn't matter where you live it's what you make of life that makes you truly happy!?!

Hi there, I'm a Brit that migrated to Oz around 12 years ago on a one way ticket and never regretted it. We've not been back to the UK since either! However, trying to find a nice big house by the beach will be a bit of an ask, unless you're a millionaire I think. Everyone wants a house by the beach and some places now have building restrictions making it very expensive. It is definitely more laid back than the UK and the Aussie's have a great sense of humour. I think it's a better life over here than the UK, for sure.

I don't think the grass is greener here at all - to be honest we're in the middle of a huge draught so if you have nice grass chances are you're not abiding by the water restrictions - LOL!
Don't mind me!
I have never been anywhere but here & although i would love to have a White Xmas & such, i don't think i could leave coz things here in Oz are pretty darn good!
As for the big house by the beach - i hope you have a lot of money! It seems house prices have risen a LOT & to me, some of the seaside homes are ridiculously priced!
If you want to come over for a different life there are just a few things you have to learn :)
1) Football here is not played with a round ball - LOL!
2) You cant wear shorts & t-shirts in winter (even though our winters are about the same as your summers)
3) Avoid using words like G'Day - we really don't say that!
4) BBQs on Xmas day are a MUST!!! :)
Nah in all honesty, things here are good, life is relaxed the beaches are awesome, the animals are like nowhere else in the world - definitely worth a thought if you plan on moving abroad!
I dont think it matters where you live at all but if you think you'd be happy somewhere else (where it's not cold all year round) then you do what you think is best!
Good Luck!

Very interesting discussion in my point of view. I came across with some people who were also having some thinking, doubt, dreams to migrate to Australia.
I myself wouldn't mind Australia. If or when I could just run and pack my things like that, I would definetely go to Australia for I have been there and I still can see better life there than here in the UK.
Some people who are already migrating there said how they enjoyed their life in Australia.
I do believe that it doesn't matter where we live we should make the most out of where we are living. And, the grass is always greener on the other side.
As for Australia, .. I think the grass is indeed greener there. lol
Follow your heart, be strong and see, perhabs you could go for a vacation there first; and then find out more, where about in Australia you would want to migrate before you make any decision.
Above all, I wish you all the best, lisakimj21.
