Where does everyone live? | | | | Since mylot seems to be a melting pot, where does everyone live? Please tell us something about where you are from, if you include a recipe from where you live that would be fun too! I live in Panama City Beach Florida. I am from Baltimore Maryland. There is nothing good in Baltimore Maryland period excepts crabs and Cal Ripken. There are beautiful beaches in Panama City Beach, I haven't figured anything else out about this place yet. Here is a recipe: Creamy crab dip 1 pound Jumbo lump crab meat 1 package of cream cheese 2 tablespoons of Mayo 1 dash of Worstershire Sauce Dash of onion salt Dash of gralic salt Old Bay Soften cream cheese in a bowl in microwave Mix in mayo, crab meat, worstershire and all psices except the Old Bay Put in a small baking dish. Put oven on 350 degrees Bake for 10-12 Minutes Sprinkle with Old Bay | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | I'm from Oklahoma, but I've been in Florida for about 12 years now. This is a good idea to share recipies. I can't think of anything from Oklahoma except Indian Fry Bread, so I will go with a Florida Recipe: Super Easy Key Lime Pie (from the Florida Keys) 2 graham cracker crusts 1 14 oz condensed milk (do not get this mixed up with evaporated or jug milk - nope- not the same) 1- 6 oz frozen limeade concentrate 1- 12 oz Cool Whip 2 tsp green food coloring Mix the condensed milk, limeade, and Cool Whip with a mixer. If you don't have or don't use food coloring often, then you can skip it. The color is just kind of anemic if you don't add the coloring. Pour this in the graham cracker crust. Chill for an hour or more. An interesting and good variation on this is to replace the limeade with pink lemonade. Do not add green coloring in that case. But 1 tsp of red which will give a pink color. This pie gets raves while being super simple to make. | | | | | | | Savingsibes (148)

| | Very, very easy. I think I will try it. I just found that Philadelphia Cream Cheese makes a spoon in Cheesecake. All you do is buy the graham cracker crust and spoon it in and add topping! The whole problem with that was I ate it all out of the container and never bought a pie shell ;D | | | | | | | Unli Call - Philippine CP Early Valentine promo : $20 less Call : 855 TIPID 00 www.tipidcalls.com | add comment | | | |

| | I'm from the Philippines but I'm now living in Qatar. :) Nothing much happening here, except that it's a desert, and when I first came here about 7 months ago, it was in the height of summer, and temperatures ranged from 40-55 degrees centigrade. But now in winter, temperatures DROP to zero, especially at night. It's pretty crazy since, coming from a tropical country like the Philippines, I got used to mainly 30-35 degree weather conditions. Oh, and there's no pork in this country. It's illegal to bring it in, and I miss it like hell. :) and my recipe would be the tradiional chicken adobo, from my country. Chicken Adobo pieces of chicken (my favourite is the thigh!) -around 6 if thigh, 12 pcs if say, wings or legs- 1.5 cups of soy sauce 2 heads of garlic, crushed 1.5 cups of vinegar salt and pepper laurel leaves some cooking oil whole peppercorns (the round black ones) heat the cooking oil in a saucepan (just eyeball it to make sure the chicken will fit), and lightly cook the garlic, just until you get the yummy aroma to fill your kitchen. put in the chicken, skin down, and brown it for a little bit. now's a good time to season with salt and pepper (or before putting it in, if you want) so that you can also eyeball the quantities of salt and pepper you put before putting in the liquids. when the chicken looks a bit cooked, put in the soy sauce and the vinegar. taste it a bit to make sure it's not too sour nor too salty for your taste. put in the laurel leaves (about 3 pieces should do) and the peppercorns and cover. allow to simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, to make sure the chicken is cooked well. in some places they let it simmer until the sauce dries up, but i like a little sauce left to put on my rice. when done, serve with steamed rice and maybe some fried sliced potatoes on the side. yummy!!! | | | | | | | Savingsibes (148)

| | I'm a born and raised Southern California girl. I love living here because everything is within driving distance without much work to get there. We never lack for things to do. We live about an 1 hour away from everything - some things are about 2 hours away. We have every kind of amusement park around. The beach and the mountains are both about 1 1/2 hours away max. If I wanted to take my son surfing and snowboarding in the same weekend, I could. The weather is amazing most of the year. We are a melting pot of people from all walks of life and I love that! My son wants to work in the film industry and because of where we live, he will have the advantage over out of state students when it comes to sacrificing to get to Hollywood. I do not have a "California" recipe to share but I do have my own recipe I can share for Chicken Taquitos and Guacamole. We have a huge spanish influence in this state so it's kind of fitting for me to share this recipe. I'm not big on using measurements so bear with me :) Chicken Taquitos & Guacamole 1 whole chicken or I prefer a bag of boneless/skinless chicken pcs Salt, Pepper and any other spanish seasonings you like 1 pack of 50 corn tortillas Toothpicks Oil 3-5 ripe avocados 2 tomatoes 1 small green chili 1 small onion 1 small bunch of cilantro Salt & Garlic salt to taste Lemon juice Place chicken in a large pot of water, add seasoning and heat until chicken is cooked through. Remove from water and allow to cool. Then shread chicken into med. size pieces. While chicken is cooking: Cube up the avocados, tomatoes, onions and chili into a bowl. Cut up the cilantro and add to mixture. Season with salt and garlic to taste. Add a litle lemon juice. Mix well, cover and refrigerate. When Chicken is ready: Take small batches of tortillas (about 12 at a time) and wrap in a paper towel. Then heat in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes until semi-soft. Place a decent amount of chicken in the center of each tortilla and roll up, then secure with the toothpick. Repeat until all of the chicken has been used. Heat up oil in a large frying pan on medium. Place taquitos in the oil and cook until brown and crispy on all sides. Drain on a paper-towel lined plate or pan. Dip into guacamole and ENJOY! Very addicting and my family would eat these every day if I would make them!
