fashion shows and the costumes

there are a lot of fashion shows and many females walk the ramp with such skimpy costumes or which can't be worn on the street by everybody. then what is the point in having fashion shows? is it just for the females to show their skin or to promote clothing?

Some people probably are wild enough to wear it out in public. I personally think it is just to show off.

I think it is both, but more of showing themselves than anything. Because they work so hard to stay skin, they feel like they should show it off.
