If nothing sticks to teflon, then how come teflon sticks to the pan?

Teflon has to be physically bonded to surfaces, not chemically. Teflon isn't actually stuck to the pan it is wedged in. The surface of the pan is grit blasted and a primer coat is baked on. Then two layers of teflon are applied. The teflon sticks to the primer coat...not the pan itself. For more information, go here: http://www.coolquiz.com/trivia/explain/docs/teflon.asp
