I think its time for a little common sense whith our weight. The best way to lose weight is simply walking. It doesn't have to be Olympic Speed Walking and it doesn't have to be a 10 mile jog every other day. In fact, I am not so sure that jogging and running would be all that good for most women. Just walk about 3,000 steps a day. Keep track by getting a cheap pedometer and just wear it allday. Check your steps at noon, or halfway through your day, and then at the end of your day. When you figure out what your normal average is, add in enough steps to bring the total up to 3,000. If you want it to be challenging and you have stairs in your home, even if they are just the stairs to your basement, do a setp up and step down over and over again while listining to some of your favorite but peppy music. Within 6 weeks you should see a difference. Nothing I did helped to lose though. Then last Summer I fired my medical doctor and stop paying on medical insurance that pretty much did not insure for what I really need and took the money to a naturopath. Insurance companies don't usually recongize or pay them. But after examining and talking to me, he said. It is NOT your thyroid but your pituitory gland which is out of balance and messing up your metabolism. He gave some natural herbal rememedies, prescribed adrenaline capsules and thyroid. Told me to cook and use only olive oil, coconut oil and real butter not margrine. Eat farm eggs not store bought, (we already have chickens so that worked) 3 times a week for breakfast 3 each time and three chicken or turkey sausage patties. And fruit for breakfast and herbal tea or coffee. I was to eat NO carbs for 3 weeks then only twice a week afterwards. limit sugars to special occassions and twice a week 2 squares of dark chocolate. Eat high protein turkey, fish, chicken, venison, lamb and buffalo well my son bought a buffalo last fall and we butchered it out plus he got a deer and he had caught a lot of trout so we had all those too in the freezer. We also had lots of chicken too. He said to eat or cook with two table spoons coconut oil a day. He also said to eat lots of fruits and veggies, raw if possible but cooked too, and bread only twice a week, lots of nuts but no legumes. It is working, He prescribed me what would usually cost me $100 a month herbal supplements to help with weight loss. But he said I am so sure you will lose I will pay $60.00 of the $100 and you pay $40 and guess what since October 1st as of February 1st 2007 I have lost 25.5 lbs and lost two dress sizes. I do exercise to with a ball and weights. I am really losing weight and it is going off slowly but surely for the first time since 1994. 13 years. | | I agree with that. I have started walking everyday now. I walk about 30 minutes a day. Besides the fact that is making me feel better, it has actually helped drop a few pounds. I don't think you need any expensive programs or equipment, you just need to walk. I still watch what I am eating. Try to stay away from sugars and high fats. Have a reasonable diet.
