If you do then you should read this article. I was aware, it it not safe to re-use plastic water bottles(like the mineral water bottles) because they can be toxic after a period of time.
Here at home, my hubby prefers to drink out of a bottle than a glass and till recently we both did that. I always argued with my hubby when I told him it isn't safe to re-use these bottles and he always disagreed. I wasn't very sure of the facts myself so had to let it go. But again a few weeks back I threw away all the bottles so he was forced to drink water in glasses.
In fact even last night my husband was ranting that he would buy new bottles today..and I told him I would prove why it's not such a good idea.
I did a little bit of research today and I was shocked at what I found.I came across two articles which are very informative and gives accurate details as to why we shouldn't use plastic bottles over and over.
Please do read this and I hope it is an eye-opener for many of us who aren't aware of it. Plastic bottles are a common household item, but how safe are they?

So think twice before you refill a plastic bottle!!

hi, i personally do not reuse plasic water bottles because our water where we live i not fit to drink. most days it is light brown color, like the pipes are dirty or something. on the days it is not is kinda light lavender looking from all the chemicals they put in trying to make it clean and it smells like chlorine. so new bottles it is for me. i did not know that reuesed ones were a health hazard. maybe if they were boiled they would be ok? i dont know.

Oh you must be having such a hard time with water like that!! It is mentioned in one of the articles that sterilizing these bottles reduces the breeding of harmful bacteria, but again who has the time to boil regular plastic bottles. Better to buy good quality plastics if we can't do without plastic at all.
