I agree with you. It is a shame that some of the members who post topics don't bother to comment on the responses they recieve. They don't even bother to rate a best response. I think some people just want to keep posting in order to raise their points. Sometimes I feel I am talking to myself when I respond to these discussions. It is inclined to put me off responding. I think we will just have to grin and bear it, as there is nothing we can do about it.

i don't understand if people are not active in their own discussions, then how can they expect other people to do that.
the first thing i always do is check on my discussions and reply to them,
i guess the kind of people you're talking about just initiate discussions for money to come in, while they're writing 50 short, meaningless responses, in under an hour, just to get their numbers up.
who knows these things, and why should we care anyway?
the next time u see some discussion like that, just don't respond.

This happens frequently here, unfortunately. The good thing is that eventually they won't get a lot of answers because they will not have the credibility in the forum as someone who cares about and values the opinions of others. These people are easy enough to spot, and if I see someone who does not respond to any posts in a discussion I will not post to anything else they have. This is a community, and it's all about give and take. You're right, there are some rude people who believe that they are too good for the rest of us. Hopefully they won't last here for very long.

I think if you start a discussion you should check in on it to see what kind of answers you have received.

I've seen a lot of discussions that were put up strictly for the points. Heck one person was just copying paragraphs from an elementy level science book as a topic.
I usually check up on my topics and comment on new responses. They should add an alert telling you when new comments on your response are added so you can link to it instead of searching back through all of them.
I've also never gotten many responses because I don't go for catch phrases or anything that'd just get a lot of feedback. I'd rather have knowledgable feedback from just a few people.
