I'm a beginner at playing the guitar and I need lessons. I have a Fender Squier Bullet. I want a new guitar soon after I have lessons and get better. Does anyone have any suggestions about getting a new guitar? Like which company should I get it from or and I like the style of either a Flying V or an Explorer. Thank you for your help.

Yeah I have learned about tab and tab makes it easier for me. I know some basics about bending and I know how to do hammer ons and pull offs. Although, I don't think that the pull offs can be heard well without bending the string with your finger that is on the first note. I'm thinking about getting a private lesson though so if I need help I can get one on one help. Thank you for your advice though.

you are write on about tutorial. but before you drop cash on a private tutor. try online lessons. there are alot of free lessions there. i love tab. beats the hell out of learning by ear. though there is something to be said about anyone who can master a song by ear.

I PLAY AN STEINBERGER SYNAPSE TRANSCALE. I LIKE THE SLIDE CAPO FOR THAT QUICK SONG CHANGES. VERY VERSITILE. GREAT FRET RESPONSE. NEW TO RIFFING BUT AM MAKING GREAT PROGRESS. PRACTICE A ROUND 2 HOURS 3 TIMES A WEEK.

Fender stratocaster is the best over all guitar, you can play smooth or as loud as you want, for more aggressive sound like divebombs, or if you like pantera or dream theater, mr. big or satriani or vai, go for Ibanez RG550 or the PGMs or the steve vai signatures.

If you have a lot of time for practice, try to practice 2 hours every session once to twice a day.

My advice is to shop around and study up on guitars a little bit so you can get the best quality at a reasonable price. You really can't go wrong buying your instrument from a music store. In the beginning you wont need a high-end piece since you are just learning and many times those 4 digit priced guitars only make a difference when you can really shred.
Also, used is a good way to begin because you get a good price and most likely the guitar is a quality piece that wore out its welcome with the previous owner. Music shops are strict on what they will buy from people so you shouldn't worry or think that the guitar is damaged.

As for playing I suggest taking at least a few formal lessons and really paying attention. Once you get some fundamentals you can take to private studies with an open ear and a few good books and audio guides. Practice your timing and your scales.

Style of guitar really doesn't make a whole lot of difference until you find your sound.

A strat allows you to go higher up the neck for solos than a Tele because of the body shape.

A Gibson has a heavy bottom sound and is good if you want to play heavier sounds. Very bass friendly. The Gibson style also weighs more than a strat or a tele.

I recommend picking up an acoustic first just because it is harder to fret and you really get to hear the natural sound without distortion. Once you can play on an acoustic you can play anything.

If you don't like an acoustic, I recommend that you practice a lot with electric unplugged. That way you can get an ear for the true sound.

Thank you very much. My amp just blew out (It was a cheap 30 dollar amp) so I'm definitely going to try what you suggested. I play a little bit every day, and I also need a tuner or learn how to tune by ear because it sounds really bad when I try to play some of my favorite songs. Plus, the free online tuners don't help much. I'm thinking either a Gibson SG or an Explorer because they both look cool. Well, thank you for your help.

Hey man,
i have been playing guitar for about 3 years now and funnily enough i have the same type of guitar that you do a bullet strat lol, i acutally quite like the feel of my one although it does need new pickups. when buying your new guitar make sure you choose a guitar that is good for your style of playing, but fender is a very good all round good quality brand. Ibanezes are also great guitars so just have a long think about which type you would like and go and test as many guitars as you can.

I'd advise getting a acustic. Go to classical guitar lessions for about 3-12 months. Then do whatever you want become a flamanco master (like me lol) or a rock star!

I totally agree with you. Accoustic guitar is the best choise! I have one of those myself too.
