how important is the first impression in a relationship?

well i didn't see my hubby till four months after we started writing to each other..i was pleasantly surprised he was even more handsome thn in his pics..i was more nervous of how i looked than he was..i tbink for us women it is more difficulkt..cos men always measure a woman by her looks..i don't give much to the first day cos often people are shy and not 100 per cent themselves..so i don't place too much importance on it..

I think first impressions do matter a lot. I know that they don't always give the truest idea of a person but you can't help judging someone from the very first instant you meet them.
However opinions can change over time, but if there isn't an initial spark then I don't think it will work out.

I don't think first impression is that much important in a relationship. In a relation the fact of long term matter most. Because if you find someone very attractive at the very first look or first meeting, but when you will spend time with him/her you can find something worng or something what you don't like that will affect you more. So, I think whatever your impression in long term about a person in a relationship, that's the main thing which make the relation stronger.
