Problem deciding where to live  | |  I have a question I'd like some advice on. My daughter and I are living with my parents now because my husband is active duty military, and he doesn't come home very often. That wouldn't be enough, in itself, to make me want to move in with my parents, except that the home we lived in was not in a great neighborhood, and I was afraid to stay there by myself, so I moved in with my parents temporarily. The problem is that my husband doesn't know where he's going to be in the next few years, so that I could buy a house and get settled. I really need to get out of my parents' house because my mom is driving me crazy!

Could you get a fairly short-term lease somewhere? Then, if your husband is transferred it wouldn't be such an issue.
Very smart thinking about your and your daughter's safety in this day and age. Are there apartment complexes with some sort of security available where you live?

ArmyWife (8) | 3 years ago |  "Home is where the Army sends us" Depending on where your husband is stationed, living on post might not be as bad as living with dear ol' mom (love her to death, can't live with her). Even though he'd be gone most of the time, you'd be around other women with similar situations. You'd make life long friends and have a place of your own. Maybe mom could come visit (it's amazing how much we miss them when they're not around). Good luck and Best Wishes.

My husband and I have been together for 5 years and he's been gone for more than half of that, but I continue to stay put in our home that we've made together. I love to be around*our* things and he enjoys being able to come home to his home. I have made the best group of friends! Armywife being one of them!!!! I have strong opinions about grown adults with kids living with their parents, but i wont go there.
Just give it a try and you might be surprised!
