Just like to ask, is it ok to let my baby have her bath twice, morning and before she sleeps? Our country is a tropical country but my baby has asthma, I am confused because some moms told me that it will not be good for her but my doctor said it is ok.

I had several pediatricians tell me that bathing my abby everyday would dry their delicate skin out too much and that most ababies only needed a bath every other day UNLESS they made a mess in their diaper taht went elsewhere. They also said just to wash their bottoms everyday, of course that makes sense. I never used much lotions on my kids as they were sensitive to some of them, so the not drying the skin made sense too.

In a tropical climate, she should probably be wiped off a couple of times a day, because of the sweat & ickiness. I know I feel cooler when I'm clean. In dry weather (or cold), you need to make sure the skin is moisturized afterwards. I don't know how that works there. She might need a powder or something applied more often. Listen to your doctor. If they say it's ok, it probably is.

As long as she isn't chilled, there shouldn't be a problem. Be careful that her skin doesn't get dried out also. Too many lotions would do more harm than good. Maybe one bath and one lite sponge bath.
