My favorite car that I have owned

My favorite car to have owned was a 1967 yellow Ford Fairlane 500 with a black vinyl roof. Under the hood it had a 390 that I had spruced up a little with a better carburator and more responsive distributor. I had beefed up the performance of the plugs and wires. The front coil springs had been expanded to balance the extended spring shackles on the rear. I ran lower profile wider tires on the back. It would have been tough today because running it required about 10-12 miles to the gallon, and I bought a lot of tires for the rear. It was a street rod that I won a lot of friendly races with. In fact, I was only topped once, and that was by a car that's engine had been modified for drag strip racing. The black interior was hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but I still really loved that car. I paid $600 for it in 1971. I wish I had kept it.
