Are there some areas where you can say you're really good at.

You may excel or maybe not but at least you can say you're good at it. You can do it better more than the others. When I was a small boy my parents always called for tradesmen and repairmen every time something in the house needs fixing. At my young age,I said to myself, I must learn how to do all these things myself so as I grew up I tried my best to do everything these people do. Now I can do electrical jobs, plumbing, carpentry and electronics. At least we don't need to hire technical people. I wish my son can be good with his hands too but his inclinations are more towards computers. Fortunately, my daughter picked up the skills and she is now the repair woman in her own household.

That's a very interesting story. As for me, I can say that I have people skills. A lot of my friends told me that the first time they saw me, they knew they would never forget me. I could just tell any story to anyone and that person will be totally sold to it. I tend to be idolized because of this skill (which up to now, i can't exactly figure out why).

Being a people person is an art and skill at the same time. It's not that easy to be a people person. You must have a great number of friends because of this. Cheers.

The one thing that I am better at than anyone is being me. I don't feel that I have ever excelled in anything particular but I am good at a lot of things. Of course, now at 71 I can't do the things that I used to I may well be better than most of my peers. My friends tell me that I knit excellent sweaters and have even paid me to knit one for them....have made at least 30 in the last 25 years. I have always been a competitor. I love a challenge in almost anything. I am a very fast typist and love to write albiet I'll never see myself in print anytime in the near future. I only write for the enjoyment. However, I know my limits and will not try anything that I know I cannot do.....feeling like a fool is not my cup of tea.

Being a fast typist is a skill most people dream of having. It takes time and patience to learn this skill. Knitting is slowly becoming a forgotten art which is sad. My mother used to knit a lot when she was alive and I remember our house was always full of young mothers trying to learn the skill.

I love nature and science and I think i'm really good at studying them. I am good at flirting (sorry had to throw that in). I am a good mother to my boys. I think I have always been good with teaching kids things.

First of all, after having been in the "trades" nearly forever, there's no sin in knowing a little about a lot, nor is it a sin to know a lot about a very narrowly defined sense of direction. Our "directions" by the way aren't always totally controlled by parental influences, No Offense. Knowing what the trades are about, and having children myself, and having expereinced life since the mid 1940's I'd encourage everyone on the planet to learn all they cn about technologies that are expanding exponentially. With that said however, Technology, and in some measure "Computers" have aided advances in trades as well as Rocket Science. BTW, there is no sin in asking for or hiring someone perhaps more knowledgeable, or experienced to help fix something. Doctors do it all the time, in consulting others. The Comp age came along awhile ago,is here to stay as long as our species remains, and trades work will always exist, but if I had the replay button, or could advise my children in any direction, first it would be go with your passions, and even if not always the easy route, take the path YOU want.
