Come out you rock music lovers out there! Can you name some of your favorite bands, and how'd they influenced you to appreciate rock music? Can you tell the world why you liked to listen to rock music, and for how long have you've been listening to it? How important is rock to your daily lives? There are also different types of rock genres, can you please help our friends to have some ideas?

A few of my favorites are the Rolling Stones, Metallica, The Who, and Led Zepplin. I guess I've been listening to rock since I was little. My dad is really into classic rock so he was always blasting that when I was growing up. But my tastes lean more towards alt/rock like the Smashing Pumpkins and all the other great bands of the '90s. I'm not sure why exactly I love rock. Some songs I like just because it has a great riff, or some songs I love the lyrics. Every song and band just affects me in some way.

I have some CD's of classic rocks also, like Black Sabbath, Nazareth and Eagles too!;)
I love the voice of Billy Corgan, very original and a good songwriter. Their Grammy award-winning album was "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness", with songs like Tonight, tonight, Bullet with butterfly wings and Thirty-three. I was saddened when they decided ti break-up..

Good news! The Pumpkins are together again and are releasing a new album this year! I think it comes out in July. So far Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain are the only members. D'arcy and James Iha won't be rejoining the band. It's too bad James and D'arcy won't be back, but I'm sure Jimmy and Billy will do a fine job.

It's really hard to talk about rock in a few lines here.. yes it means a lot to me but to stay with your point; there was/still many bands/artists that had/have great effect on me.. Metallica, Dio, Savatage, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits.. Bruce Springsteen, Meat Loaf , Sting, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart .. I can go on for ever.. there is really big list of my favorites and i have a very diverse taste for music especially all kinds of Rock :)

That's very good to hear.. The only savatage song that I knew and heard was, "All that I Bleed," it's really is a very good song. The only band that I was not more familiar about was Dio, but I guess they have some hit songs that I've heard of but was not much familiar of!;)
