I recently bought a new printer, but didnt use the same brand I had before - not that I didnt like it, but I wanted a few more details than the old one and there are plenty out there to choose from. I have a budget, 1st of all, so I dont overspend, then I look for the old and new details - I wanted a photo developer this time, ease of use, larger scanner base, etc. I decided on a 3-in-one printer (copier, scanner and photo developer) with incoming fax capabilty. I had an hp before (they have 3-in-ones also) - which is a great brand, but the Epson seemed the best for my requirements.
