Black Friday: a movie worth seeing. Have you seen it yet?

Black Friday is based on the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai which many believe were organised as retaliation for the Bombay riots which left over 1,500 people dead, mainly Muslims. It was featured at the Locarno film festival and received widespread praise.

Black Friday has not been released in Indian theatres as on the eve of its release a petition was filed by the persons named in the film, the alleged perpetrators of the crime, seeking a stay. Their argument, which was upheld by the court [1], was that the film would bias public opinion against them and hence affect the outcome of the verdict which is still pending in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. The accused have been charged with TADA, Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act, which carries a maximum sentence of death.

However, the film has been received rapturously at previews in India and abroad. News also comes through the film grapevine that Black Friday is to get a United Kingdom release in 2006.

black friday to me is a masterpiece....it's kind of a movie any movie would feel proud to be compared to.i've been waiting for this movie for the last 2 years and the wait has been worth it.......there are some movies that are so good ...so brilliant that you just cant define them..describe them in words, they are limitless in terms of their creativity.best is not to read this crap but to go out... watch the film and experience the masterpiece yourself.
