Family Law: Griswold v. Connecticut, 381 U.S. 479 (1965)  

In the Griswold v. Connecticut case, the Supreme Courts ruled that the Constitution protected a right to privacy and struck down a law, which prohibited the use and distribution of contraceptives, on the basis that it violated the "right to marital privacy". This case was one of the first to make the Federal government's jurisdiction grow to encompass some family law. The First Amendment rights brought family privacy under Federal Responsibility.
