Neighbor lost all in fire. List of items needed to start a home from scratch.  

appliances - coffee maker, toaster, mixer. I guess that would be the minimum there
Additional - crock pot, can opener, george forman grill, blender

Bedroom - sheets, mattress, pillows, dresser, lamps, alarm clock
Living room - tv, couch, chair, lamps
Dining room - table chairs
Bathroom - towels, wash cloths, soap, shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant.

Wel that is really tragic, and it is just good that no one was injured. It is realy good that the community is rallying round to try and help this family. Obviously I don't know how many in the famiy, and if there are any kids, and of what ages, but they will all need to sleep somewhere, so I would say for the bedrooms - bed linen (sheets, pillow cases), blankets, duvets, quilts, pillows, and duvet covers. Also a clock of some kind if they have to get up for school or work, and some curtains to cover the bedroom windows for privacy.

Spices you need those for cooking! Dish clothes, teatowels, can opener, wooden spoons, mixing bowls, mixer, toaster, cookie sheets, cake pans, measurings spoons and cups, dishbrush. Oh my gosh the list of things is going to be very long.

This is really tragic, but good that no one was injured. In privious responses they told already about the item, still I want to put a list of must have item according to my view. Atleast one matress and bad cover and two pillo for sleeping. Table chair and lamp for living room, if possible one couch. For kitchen other then dishes and pans it's important to have glasses and cups and dish wasing ditergent with sponge. For laundry one laundry backet and laundry ditergent.

Living room tv couch tables chairs couple of small rugs book cases curtians for every room. Bedroom bed of course night stands pillows sheets sets blankets towels dish rags bath towels. Canisters kitchen microwave toaster coffee pots. Any thing you would use in your own home would be great.Back when we lived in Nevada you seen people get burned out all the time so everyone pitched in and helped. It was always nice to be able to give someone in need something they really could use. A vcr or dvd player a stero. Movies/cds/dvds/vcr tapes. You know man can not live by just the things they need we all need a break once in a while. You sound like a real good person Geminigirl.
