The best place to rent a car is Enterprise.But you will get better deals if you rent a car from a enterprise location clsoe to airport instead of booking at the airport.
There are many eateries inside the park,it depends on your taste.All the eating joints have almost the same price range.

Hi, i have been in Orlando about 10 times in my life, and I am only 25. I will tell you what I would do in your place:
- I have traveled in different seasons, and the moment with less people and less crowded is Septembre (from the 1st. to 15th). Lines are really short except for labor day and sometimes you can feel you own the park.
- Some days are hot, but in the parks you are many times inside air conditioned places, so the hot climate it is not a big problem. Besides that, swiming is great.
- Tickets are cheaper if you buy them online than in Orlando, and if you buy online in Universal youll get free tickets for the children.

So far you have some great tips, but I was wondering what you would be doing for accomodations. There are some packages that sell accomodations and they also give you some free tickets, but not a whole lot, and you should make sure you get a hotel that has a free shuttle to the theme parks, which will save you a lot of driving yourself around.
I stayed in Orlando last year and found the shuttles to be the most useful, when I found out about them. I recommend you have your meals outside the theme parks if possible, as they will be cheaper that way. I hope you will be able to make this happen for your family!
