Do you ever bribe yourself?

I do! I have something to do and I keep putting it off so I tell myself if you do so and so you can have a cigarette, cup of coffee, candy bar, cookie, myLot, etc. the list goes on and on but that way is how I eventually get things done.

I have never done that. I fear if I did, it would be a reward of food treats, and that I can live without. Blessings, M&M

I did a few years back. My neurologist wanted me to start taking self-injections 3x a week of Rebif for my MS. I'm terrified of doing that to myself (even though when done correctly doesn't hurt that much). I saw a ring with matching earrings in the Avon catalog about a week before I was to start and bought them but promised myself I wouldn't wear the ring until I did the first shot and the earrings until I did shots two and three. It worked and I love the jewelry (black sapphires) to this day!

I do things just a little differently. I wouldn't call it a bribe, I would rather call it a reward for getting things done. But I often cheat too. I take my reward before the job is done and again after it is done.

No, I am so hard headed that wouldn't work for me, LOL. I just tell myself that if I don't do it, it won't get done. I can't stand to have a ton of things to do at once, so I just bite the bullet and get it over with.

Oh, I've tried that many times. I know a little trick though...lol If I try and bribe myself it hardly ever works. I always convince myself I may as well smoke, drink or eat it first...then do the chore. Well we all know that leads to not doing it...hehehe I have a very big procrastination issue.

Sure, like if you do a bit of cleaning you can have another hour on the internet. I do that all the time :-)

If only others bribed me the way I bribed myself, I'd probably be filthy spoiled lol. I'm always taking a break here and there. Drinking coffee when I know I should be working. Sitting around and finding nothing to do when I know I have a million things to do. I think procrastinating is key here lol, because I think that's what I do all day. And eventually everything gets done. Like today, in between being on mylot, I got my house cleaned! Lol and thankfully before my mom came over, or else she'd start giving me a lecture of how should always keep my house clean lol.
