how long does the scent stay in homemade soap?

i'm making scented soap as party favors for my wedding reception. the wedding is july 7. is it okay to start working on making them now or will the scent be gone by the time the wedding is here if i do that?

If you're making a glycerin based soap and using fragrance oils, yes, the scent will stay. I would make sure you keep them in airtight container where it's dry and cool though, so they don't melt. I've had home made soaps that the scent lasts for years, and my mom makes both natural soaps and the glycerin melt and pours and the scent lasts forever.

thank you very much for your help. I am using a glycerin based soap and am using fragrance oils. I am going to use the scents of lavender, peach, and apple. the lavender ones will be colored purple, the peach ones colored peach, and the apple ones colored green

yes i am going to shape them. i made some peach ones yesterday and i made lavender ones today. i have a mold that the soap will be heart shaped with a pretty floral pattern on it
