Does anyone here knows how to bake a yummy chocolate cake? email this discussion to a friend?

If you know how, I will really appreciate your help. I just love chocolate cake but I don't know how to make one. I want to learn how so that I can bake it for myself and I will no longer buy them from the bakeshops.

i don't know any recipes off hand but if you google it i am sure you can find something, just look up like "how to bake a chocolate cake", you should get lots of ways to make one

Here's the quickie Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake:

INGREDIENTS:
1 - 18 ounce chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup water or milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise (Increase mayonnaise to 1 cup if cake mix has pudding mix in it.)

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.** Combine ingredients with a hand mixer on low. Continue beating on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake for 30 - 35 minutes. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely before frosting.

** For 9 x 13 pan - bake for 35 - 40 minutes. Cool completely in pan.
** For Tube pan - bake for 40 - 45 minutes. Cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove from pan.

Ok! Now here's my mother's Made from scratch Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake:

Makes: 1 deep 9 x 13 pan or 10 x 14 pan

Ingredients:
4 cups (950 ml) flour
2 cups (475 ml) sugar
8 tbsp (125 ml) unsweetened cocoa
4 tsp (20 ml) baking soda
2 cups (475 ml) water
2 cups (475 ml) mayonaise (I use Miracle Whip)
2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla

Preparation:
Mix all dry ingredients together.
Add water, mayonaise and vanilla.
Mix on medium or medium high for about two minutes.
Pour into greased and floured deep 9 x 13 inch cake pan.
Bake 350 degrees (175 C.) F for about one hour or until toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean
