i always find myself in this tight spot.. a friend who is in dire need comes to me and i just cant say no, even if it means a lot of sacrifice to myself. and this does not only happens once, but many times with the same person. am i just too naive enough not to see that they are just taking advantage or is it just right to help?

its really hard to say no if you think it is SHY to say no. or if you think no is a negative word then it is hard to say no. but think of yourself first... or analyze things first before saying YES. my mom always say think atleast 7 times before deciding. try it my friend.... slowly, gradually.

Days have changed and our views on friends have not changed. Though I feel I should go out of the way to help a friend in kind or in cash, it is simple not possible because our own lives would be under testing time. So I adopted a principle to help my friends whenever it is possible and to whatever extent it is possible. Honestly speaking I cannot go out of the way to help him and put my life in jeopardy.

good day ssh123!! i have tried telling them my capabilities and limits on helping.. but sometimes they just seem so persistent... and is of urgent need. but this time, ill think ill have to think of myself first before putting myself into someone else's trouble. thanks for your point of view! have a nice day!

Whether they take advantage or not, just remove this from your mind. Just try to focus on the maxim that a friend in need is a friend indeed. Help him without expecting anything in returns. Don't say no. I have described friendship as a blessing in one of my posting on this site. If it is a blessing and if anyone wants to get something through this blessing, then help him with an open heart. I think this would be the kindest action that can exist. If he is taking advantage, sooner or later, he will surely realize because every human is born with some emotional instinct. So just help your friends and never refuse them anything.
