Do you think Harry Potter will die in Book 7? |
|
I have a feeling that JK Rowling would let Harry Potter die in Book 7. I know that it was being foretold that Harry could defeat Voldemort by his greater power. But I remember the phrase in one of the books that "neither can live while the other survives". My interpretation is just so literal that if Harry's life will totally end in Book 7, so does Voldemort. It's some kinda possible that what JK would like to depict in book 7 is that there will be a union between good and evil. But i'm not quite sure. It's just my predictions. I don't want Harry to die. I'm still hoping that there might be some better twists in his last adventure. I'm looking forward on Hermione's role here too. If she had saved Harry's life in the beginning, I do hope she will still be able to save him in this final chapter. What do you think? Will Harry still survive? Will he really die?

3. brainy_bob (2) | 3 years ago | Oh yes, the much awaited last book. Hmm..from a hindsight point of view, it's best to remember that Harry was saved from Voldemort by LOVE. LOVE of a mother.. now, who's to say that what will save him again is LOVE..LOVE from a friend? A lover? Hermoine? Ginny? I'm a scriptwriter and a good story always has a good CONNECTIVE TISSUE, and JK Rowling is the master at it. Now, it may also be, that Harry is living out his life as well as Voldemort's early life together. He does after all have Voldemort's power. So, as a whole, my opinion on the matter is NO. I do not think Harry will die in the last book. Not because the hero always lives but because it just wouldnt be a good ending to a highly successful series. The reason that Dumbledore had to die in the Half-blood Prince is because it's part of the "Hero" formula. A mentor/teacher has a to die. This creates a twist and therefore fuels the drive for the Hero to muster up his wits and strength to get ready for the final epic battle. Hence, the last book. This is a well-plotted series by JK Rowling. If you'd like to know more about how a traditional Hero story is made, try Googling "A Hero's Journey"

artistmel2000 (370) | 3 years ago | Connective tissue! YES, I see it now. I think I knew it all along, but was unable or just not brainy enough to put the term to the technique. I tried explaining to my daughter why Voldemort had to die, even if it was sad. It will be interesting to see if the LOVE from a friend (Hermoine) or a lover (Ginny) will be the the love that save's Harry.
I am Googling "A Hero's Journey" to see what pops up. Thanks for the insight.

5. ghurl5384 (111) | 3 years ago | i think harry potter will die in book 7. i've once read an article in the internet that some authors, specially those who write "series" type of books, kill their hero or leading character in order to prevent unauthorized fake authors to write stories using the same character. nevertheless, we never know what's on JKR's mind, so let's all just wait and see...

myworld_and_you (981) | 3 years ago | I have heard that too. And who knows that might be one of the reasons if JKR would end up letting Harry die on her last book. But if it's one of the reasons, it must have to end in such a way that people would not regret of following Harry Potter's series. I'm just too excited to read the finale. So many questions have lingered in our minds already.:)

6. abby_abz (141) | 3 years ago | I think Harry will be the one to live and destroy Voldemort. I think the phrase from the prophecy which states "neither can live while the other survives" means that there is no peace when Voldemort and Harry are both alive. Voldemort would always try to kill Harry and same with Harry, he will never rest until he makes sure that the one who killed all his loved ones is dead and that is Voldemort.

myworld_and_you (981) | 3 years ago | You know what? I'm really thinking right now on the response you gave. I'm repeating that phrase all over and over again in my mind. And yes! You have a point. You go into the deeper meaning of that phrase, while me, i understood it literally. It could be that way too. I appreciate the way you think. And in that way, of course, Harry must have to live at the end, not Voldemort.

7. danishcanadian (20329) | 3 years ago | I have no idea. That's one trend I never followed. Come to think of it, I don't really care to follow trends in general. When the entire world starts raving about something, I will usually stay away from it. Why follow the crowd? I like to find things out for myself, rather than hear what the world things of it before I have the chance to discover it on my own.

9. desertdarlene (5842) | 3 years ago | I would have to say that I would be very disappointed to see Harry Potter die. It would mean that his life and his parent's life would have been in vain, even if Valdemort dies, too. I would like it implied that he would graduate and continue fighting evil.
