Our computer is still taken over by nvctrl.exe. Nvctrl.exe shows in processes in "Windows task manager", and when i select nvctrl.exe i can "end process" or "end process tree". i selected end process tree and it said that "ending this process could cause system instability" so i cancelled it. Is it alright to end the process tree??

Full scan is necessary for your machine. Nvctrl is a trojan.Zlob horse, which hijacks your internet settings and modifies your web-browser settings. It is necessary that you have to run a full scan using an effective antivirus and to contact an expert for assistance on how to remove it. I suggest that you visit www.bleepingcomputer.com There you can contact one of the HJT experts there for assistance. I am sure they will help you. You just have to register first and open this topic at the right forum category. Please follow all instructions that was given to you, step by step, for you to be able to remove the virus totally. You just have to provide a log for them to check and verify the status of your system. If you scan your computer, quarantine whatever it finds.
Good luck!
Hope this would help.

if you sure that was virus background you can stop it without worry, then search and destroy that virus from your computer. restart your computer and check if the nvctrl.exe still run in your background process that mean your computer is not clean yet from that virus. you should scan your computer using your best updated antivirus until that file not showing in your background.

Thats no problem you can go ahead and select yes to end process tree of Nvctrl.exe But this should be done every time you log on your computer. A simple solution would be to get your computer with updated anti virus software.
May I know what anti virus/firewall is installed in your computer? If so check if auto-updates is enabled.

Are u sure the virus infected file is nvctrl.exe..If yes end it ...ignore the warning beacause System process if any could not be killed by task manager.
If its getting killed than ok..no system instability issues , remove it from System startup by running msconfig on run prompt..download a good antivirus like Nod32 or Kaspesky and leave on it..
