Spiders...ICK!!

I clean my house daily, but find I still have a mega problem with keeping spiders out. I don't want to use pesticides inside my house, because I have pets and I don't personally like the smell pesticides leave behind after being used. Are there any alternative methods to keeping spiders outside where they belong? Something that isn't pesticide based?

Hi. I am a spiderphobic!! My husband continually tries to tell me the benefits of the little squiggly legged varments, but I am not having them in my home! Thanks for the information. I will certainly give it a try, anything is worth a try if it keeps pesticides out of my house. I to know the benefits of spiders, but I worry to much about someone in my family or my pets getting bit by one when spiders start getting into my house.

Spiders will eat other bugs in your home. I hate them but know they are good to have around. Like you, I dont like them in the house. I hate chemicals for lots of reasons. I dont know any tricks to get rid of them though. Hope someone comments with some advice for you. I do know that some people in our area have used chemicals sprayed outside around the foundation of the house. They say that this method works well but I would think the smell of the chemicals would still get into the house.

I to have heard of people spraying outside their home to keep bugs out, but really even outside I don't like spraying pesticides seeing as I do have a respect for all living creatures and don't want to poison any of the outside cats that wander around and keep the mice population down around here.
