my printer isn't working.....help

my printer, CANON PIXMA iP1000, is not working. the message is coming - the waste ink absorber is full - i don't know what does it mean.
can i fix it myself or contact the service provider? it is about 2 yr old.

u can fix it by urself. check ur printer, open it, look for the garbage ink tank. check it out if it is full.
