How do you get your child into modeling or acting? | | My 4yr old wants to become an actress or a model. I was also considering doing the same with my 9 month old daughter. They are both girls. I just don't know where to start. Does anyone on here know how I can go about doing this?

Any place demanding you to pay money is not an agencie, it's most likely a school or scouting company that gets you to pay them to find agencies for you(ie. model search america). If an agency sees potential in your child, they will pay YOU/your child, not the other way around. Unless they see incredible potential/talent with a home made portfolio, you're best to get a professional portfolio shoot done to get started (which is where it does get expensive.. up to $1000/photoshoot.. but photoshoots should be the only time you give anyone money in this business). Once you have build a good portfolio, start sending out samples to different agencies, with contact info, etc. so they can get back to you. Good luck! Child modelling and acting are a great way to create self confidence at an early age. P.S make sure this is something your daughter is excited to do, and you're not coaxing her into it for the money. Also, forget what those people are saying about Jon Benet. First of all, she was involved in pageants, which attract perverted people/greedy parents to steal money from their child and then kill them, etc. etc. or whatever. Modelling and acting are completely different, and if you're a good parent you'll keep your daughter safe from harm anways.

serenae (133) | 1 year ago | Thank you very much. This is a great help. I am not planning on doing any pageants or anything that may damage my daughter in any way. I am doing it because she has said that she would like to, and I think she would really enjoy it. If she says she has had enough then we will no longer be doing it.
