Where your significant other, is faithful, but so flaky that their word means nothing? They'll tell you a time, and a place where you will do something, and then flake out with a million excuses.

This is my last relationship. She showed up about 25% of the time, but at least i was 100% sure that she was faithful. She was a great girl, we had great chemistry, my thought is why would she flake out then?

As I got to know her I found out that she was a lot of the reasons they make jokes about blonde's. Not that she was stupid, but more along the lines of ditzy, like she would forget that we were going to do something.

Has anyone been through something similar? A relationship where you couldn't count on what the person said, or did/did not do?

If so, how did you deal with it? Are you still with them? Did you find a way to come to a conclusion? Did you kick them out of your life?

Really the bothersome thing is, being such a great girl, she really strikes my hot buttons a lot and makes me angry. Most of the time I have to rationalize that with the thought that she didn't mean to do what she did. but on the other hand it's also bad for me in the relationship, so I had to end it after months of dating that were fine, and then two months of this ditzy stuff trying to find a conclusion to make it work for us.

But nonetheless the girl does love me, which often makes me wonder if there is some underlying way to be able to stay in the relationship with the love, care, and chemistry that is there, but to find a way to cope or come to a conclusion on the flakiness.

Yes i had a relationship like that one. my then bf will show up probably 20% of the time. He'll always say something came up at work, then he'll promise to make it up, and he won't show up. there are times that i have to wait a whole month for him to make up on a day he forgot. i couldn't take it anymore so i broke up with him. He was faithful i know it, but basically he was very focused on work and that was his priority.

Great topic. Yes, this has happened. I have even had a woman cancel an important first date over the phone, because her fear of meeting me was so overwhelming that she was rooted to the spot. It is not like I peed in her cereal, or anything.
