news has reported people sickened in 39 states for the outbreak of salmonella linked to Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter. CongraFoods of Nebraska, Inc has stated the outbreak is tied to jars whose lids bear the product code beginning with 2111. Check your peanut butter and contact your family & friends. Yes I have heard about this. My mother told me about it and made sure I checked mine but I don't buy Peter Pan or Great Value Brand. I buy the really cheap stuff and I checked the code and thank goodness mine isn't one of them. This is really messed up though because we can't even eat peanut butter now without getting sick. Are they trying to kill us? It really makes you wonder about these things.

When I read the news report of Peter Pan and Great Value, I said uh-oh.. I went and checked the three jars of Great Value I had. yep, sure enough. code 2111 was on all three of the jars. I just came back from wal-mart waiting in line from others getting a refund on there peanut butter. Looks like JiF brand will get a boost in sales. Your right about these companies, you really have to wonder.
