Fine Jewelry

If you were going to buy fine jewelry, such as gold, silver, etc, gemstones: diamonds, garnet, sapphire etc.
Where would you buy it? From a local store, on the intenet? And would you go by the price, or whether you could charge it or not?

As much as I would love to say that I would support and purchase my jewelry from the local family owned for generations Jewelry shop here in my town, I can't. You just can not beat the prices from auctions such as bidz and ebay. Even with shipping and handling, you can buy pieces at a fraction of the price. I know it's a shame but the internet has opened doors to us that our grandmothers would have killed for. As far as charging it essentially that is what you are doing when using an auction, although I pay my credit card bill in its entirity at the end of the month. Well at least a couple of them,,,,LMAO
