Is bordem the lack of motivation or ambition?
To me it is rather like asking which comes first the chicken or egg.
You may have ambitions but the lack of motivation to carry through with the ambitions. Thus, causing you to become bored with your life.
Then again if you are bored it is hard to gather up the ambition or motivation to do anything about your bordem.
What are your thoughts on this?

I find I get bored when I don't know where my life is headed and I have nothing to aim for.
I think that is a mixture of not having any ambition and as a result not being motivated to do anything.

Thanks for your input. I agree with you that not knowing where our life is headed can certainly be a cause of bordem.
Therefore, I guess you coud say that the lack of ambition to set goals for our life can cause bordem.
