Where in Texas have you lived or visited? |
|
I used to live in the Fort Worth area. I really did enjoy it. I liked the area, people and even the weather. There are times I think I might move back there when I am ready to retire. I also enjoyed Galveston. I would not want to live in that area all the time but it is very interesting to visit.
What about you? Do you have a favorite area that you like?

1. Michele21 (2871) | 3 years ago | I live in Abilene and it is pretty boring here=) I have lived in Lubbock and liked it there, Amarillo and didn't care for it. Have friends in Midland and it seems really nice there. No favorite really, I just love Texas!

royal52gens (3356) | 3 years ago | I did not attend school in Texas. I moved to Texas in 1978 and left in 1988. I am glad you attached a small photo of the Ft. Worth skyline. I agree the traffic was a headache especially that mixmaster in the middle of downtown. I have been back a couple times for short visits. I am sure I will be back there again in teh future, at least for a little while.

royal52gens (3356) | 3 years ago | My son was recently redeployed from Ft. Hood for his second tour of duty in Iraq. The internet is good for keeping in touch with him. Two of my children were born in Texas. We still have family and friends in Texas.

4. paulick (366) | 3 years ago | Well i went to Texas on vacation last year. I'm from Denmark, europe. I went there for 3 weeks to visit a freind i've met.
I landed in Houston, where i had rented a car. I then drove down to Georgetown, then San Antonio, then Austin where my friend lives i a town called Round Rock. Then from there on down to Corpus Christi and back to Houston and back to Europe.

royal52gens (3356) | 3 years ago | That is quite a trip you had. I hope you enjoyed it enough to do it again. Of course, it probably was a very expensive trip to make.

|
|
paulick (366) | 3 years ago | No, actually it was not that expensive. But i had been saving up for some time but it was not as expensive as i expected.
Next time i come to US i would like to make a trip from huston-dallas up to colorado-nevada- california. That is gonna be expensive.

royal52gens (3356) | 7 months ago | You will love exploring Colorado. It is beautiful country. The Grand Mesa is a great place to go fishing for Rainbow Trout. I spent many summer vacations there.

5. becuttieusa (4691) | 3 years ago | Hi royal52gens!!! I am from Houston, Texas so i am so familiar with Texas. I love Texas, especially Houston. Houston is a really big, crowded city where i can find everything in this world. There are many kinds of people from Asian, American, African American, Indian, British..... live in Houston. So there are so much fun and so much choices, chances to get any job and earn good money. And my favorite place in Houston is Hong Kong 4 mall where there are lots of Asian people there and the Asian cuisine is so yummy. I love it.

6. APMorison (276) | 3 years ago | I haven't made it there yet, anywhere in Texas - sigh
but for some reason I've always wanted to see Galveston. It may even have something to do with the 'song'.

royal52gens (3356) | 3 years ago | Oh you have got to go to Galveston. It is wonderful to walk on the beach. I stayed in a motel right on the beach. The seagulls make a lot of noise. The houses in that area are very intesting and old-fashioned. I love the architecture of the houses and the buildings. There are also a lot of places to shop and eat.

7. tammyr (3436) | 3 years ago | I went to Six Flags when I was about 11 and loved it. that is the only time I was in Texas. I lived in Oklahoma at the time.

royal52gens (3356) | 3 years ago | I never went to Six Flags but I did go to Oklahoma a few times. One of the times there was a tornado warning and a bad rain storm. All of the traffic on the freeway had to stop under the bridges and the radio was telling everyone to seek shelter. It was quite the adventure.

8. eden32 (2986) | 3 years ago | My mother was stationed at Ft Hood when I was in high school. We lived off-base in Copperas Cove for just about a year. As a teenager, I hated Texas. Especially the area we were in at the time. There was just nothing to do and no culture to the area at all. I grew up in Boston & surrounding suburbs. There's so many museums, types of cuisine, types of people and there's always something to do. So moving to the heart of Texas was a bit of culture shock to me then. I have friends there still & I have visited a few times since moving back East. Now as an adult, I can appreciate the quiet & slower pace. I very much enjoy visiting the area when I want a relaxing vacation. But I don't think I would ever choose to live there.

royal52gens (3356) | 7 months ago | My son lived off base for awhile. He also lived in Copperas Cove. Now he is in Arizona. I have never had the opportunity to go to Boston. I think that would be an interesting place to explore and visit.
