Yes, air mattresses are wonderful. I have one and my grandchildren sleep on it when they visit. They gather in the living room and have a good time talking and watching TV until they start to drift off. It is like a little sleep over party for them, and I have slept on it too, very comfy!

Many people seem to really like their air mattresses. Thanks for your reply.

I like to have an air mattress for when company comes to visit, you can inflate it and put it in the living room for the company to sleep in if you don't have an extra room. They are not that expensive to purchase at any department store and after the company leaves you can fold it up and put it away.

A nice fold away bed that takes up no space. Thanks naty.

Howard- I am going to assume your speaking of the ones you use as an extra bed type? not the ones you use in a pool (Remember I am blonde, and from Southern California LOL ). OK With that in mind... I bought from Wal-Mart a Queen Size air matress I believe it's Coleman brand. It came with the pump and charger and everything for about $99 I think. I use it all the time. When my grandson's come down they use it, my nephew uses it when he wants to come stay in our little guest house with his Dad. It's very useful and then deflates, folds, gets put back in the box, stashed in the closet and doesn't take up any room. I love it. It's more comfortable than a roll-a-way and certainly takes up less room. It inflates in a matter of minutes and have had no trouble at all with it leaking or losing air in the night.
I recommend it. :)

Seeing this discussion took place one year ago I guess you got your air mattress by now. I'll still add my two-bits since the subject has resurfaced.
I have never owned or slept on one. The first experience I had was when we had a sleep over at my workplace as we were going to have a cookout at a river the following day. Someone brought one and they pumped it up.
The following morning they were all flat on the ground. Guess it had a leak. We had a whale of a laugh onver it.
Air beds are a definate investment I would make. With the way this house can be full when family comes it sure would make a lot of difference. I might just get one myself to help out with the sleeping bags. (lol)

Hi my friend, I believe they are a good investment, as for the sleeping bag I could never sleep in one of those - don't you get in it then zip it up? I am one of those people that must have their feet exposed or else I will never sleep even in the coldest room they have to be uncovered, don't know why. LOL

I loved ours and used it often when the kids would have visitors over or we would have other people stop in to visit. I even had many people borrow it when they had friends visit.
If you're thinking of using it for a permanent matress... not a good idea! It's great for a couple days though.

We have air mattresses for camping or for when company comes to visit.
I like them for camping! My husband knows I will not go camping without one.

The air mattress seems to be everyones favorite. I can see it's so much better than those old fold up cots. Thanks for sharing this.
