Hi everyone. I need a little advice on somethings so please help. I use to be able to go to sleep with no problems but for a couple of months now I have been having trouble sleeping and I refuse to take any of them sleep medication. Can anyone give me advice on some type of natual remedy or a process that can help me sleep through the night. I do have to admit that I am under some stress but i dont think that can mess up my sleeping.

Catnip tea would be the easiest for you to use. I use though not for a while now is Calms Forte from the health food store. It is homeopathic. Works for me after using it for 2 nights. I also choose not to drive first thing the next day. Hope that this helps you and that it is indeed temporary!!

Stress can actually affect your sleeping sometimes. Other times, it may be the fact that you might just not be tired and your body seems restless. I have read somewhere, I forget where, but some place told me that a way to get to sleep quicker is to relax your body. It said something about sometimes when people are restless, they move their tongue and that keeps them awake. So, I have tried that..Relaxing my tongue. And then next thing I know, I'm asleep. Ways that I have found to get tired are playing hard games online. I like playing Mahjong on Pogo. That makes me tired after a few rounds so I can sleep easily. Also, a few questions...Have there been any big changes in your life lately? Depending on if there have, and what they were, those could be affecting you.

Actually Stress messes your Sleep totally, take it from someone who knows. I suggest that you get some herbal sleeping aid and also before you go to sleep try and relax by reading a book or something. Just do something that normally relaxes you. Try not to think of what ever is causing the stress. I hope this helps you a bit Michele. The Herbal Sleepaids are not addictive or anything.

Another thing might be your mattress? Try getting a new mattress or even just new pillows might help. And if you are stressed, that can really mess with your sleep - even if you think it won't or that it doesn't..

I know it sounds crazy, but if your lack of sleep is caused by stress, treat it like a headache, take 2 tylenol or ibuprophen half an hour before bed time. and then, 20 minutes later take a glass of warmed milk. Warming the milk above body temp releases a chemical that makes you sleepy. You should have no problem if you follow these 2 steps.

Stress certainly will effect your sleep. Best for me is to do something that takes my mind of problems of the day before going to bed: light reading, crochetting, watching a good movie. Also avoid caffine drinks and eating at least 4 hours before going to bed. There are some natural herbs and vitemines that help, I keep St. John's Wart on hand for times I'm under a lot of stress - it helps.
