Cubs vs. Sox - Where did all the tickets go?

In Chicago, one of the biggest events of the summer is when the Chicago Cubs travel south to face their archrival the Chicago White Sox. Every year, I devise some new plan to acquire tickets to these games because they're the hottest tickets in town to get a hold of. This year, all three games are sold out already, and tickets haven't even gone on sale yet to the general public! So to whom have they sold the tickets to? Doesn't the general public make up the majority of the fan base? So why on earth would they give the general public first crack at getting these tickets? Now, for the real fans that want to go to the games, they'll have to pay ticket brokers nothing less than their first born child for tickets. Don't you think this is totally ridiculous? Any ideas on how teams could devise a system in which the true fans can get a hold of the tickets before the vultures do?

I've seen this sitting here for a few days, and I was talking to my mom about it. She says that it's the corporations that are buying up all the tickets to give to their employees. It's sad to hear that no one can get tickets to that anymore. I would love to go to one of those games, but I know that being up in Minnesota, it'll be a long time before I'd be able to make the trip. I'd have to have it well planned out in advance. I was down there for a birthday party the day the Sox won the championship, and went to the Series. I was ecstatic. I bought 3 different shirts proclaiming it, and one of them still has the tag on it, never to be worn. The other 2 I've worn proudly, and would do the same if the Cubs were to go. I'm so proud of the two teams, and it's a goal in my life time to see the two play each other in person.

Yeah, I've been to quite a few of those games. And I'll probably cave and pay some ridiculous ticket broker price to go to another one this year. Got to be at Wrigley though. I definitely suggest you go to one at some point in your lifetime, for the stuff that goes on in the stands between opposing fans is as entertaining as what goes on in the field.
Go Minnesota Twins, I hope they rip the Sox a new one this year. Santana and Morneau are the real deal!
