There have been rumors circulating that Joss Whedon may put out yet another Serenity movie. Now I have been juggling in my head, what they could cover in this film. What would be the plot line? Is it a prequel or a sequel? Tell me your thoughts. How would you do it?

I think I'd like to see a sequel, so that all of the characters can be in it. I felt like the jump from the show to the movie left a lot of unanswered questions. I'd like to see more about Shepard Book's past life. Given what we've seen in the show we know he wasn't always a Preacher. I'd also like to see the Blue hand guys....and have more of a lead-up to the Alliance calling in an Operative to find River.
Another movie would be great (though I have a feeling this might not happen-the first one didn't make enough money in the theater for studios to be that interested, plus Joss is a busy guy), if I had a chice though I would rather see the show "Firefly" continue. I think the show was a better avenue for exploring the characters, since the show is so character based. I'd love to know more about all their back stories, especially Jayne and Zoe, who are two of my favorite characters.

If you watch the movie extras Joss Whedon tries to explain that the movie and the series are not really tied together. I find this hard to believe sometimes. You are right about the mystery surrounding Shepher Book though. I would sure like to know why a man of God knows so much about crime.

I think the movie was suppoed to take place 6 months (I can't remember the exact amount of time) after the series. There was also a comic book series that covered some of the time between what we saw in the series and what we saw in the movie. Comics are great, but it's not the same.

I agree with you there. Comic books aren't the same. I do hope and pray though that they at elast bring back the series. I loved it! I loved the silliness of the crew at times. No matter what the situation. I could feel that high jinks about to erupt amongst the crew. Have you seen the outakes from the series box set? It is hilarious.

I think that I would like to see a prequel. Or at least I hope they will try to do some earlier stories when and if they ever make more comic books. The sad thing is that there is really very little chance for them to make another movie. It breaks the fan's hearts to think about it, but the truth is that the movie fell victim to some pretty bad circumstances.
As for stories I would like to see fleshed out more, I totally agree about Book. I really want to know his back story. Same goes for Blue Sun. If I we were talking about having a sequel (after the movie takes place), I would want to know whta kind of backlash the video leak left on the Alliance. Has there been a coop? Did they manage to cover everything up? Have we really seen the last of the operative?
Oh, I really hope we get some kind of story someday. I don't care if it animated, comic books or what. It would just be nice to see something.

Oh, Jubal Early! He was crazy. I also think that he would have made a pretty good "big bad" if you will. Seeing more of him would be awesome, especially since there are rumors that he was a failed earlier version of that the Alliance was trying to make River into. Just like River he speaks in riddles, so it's really fun to try to see how much sense you can make of what he says.
I'd also like to see Badger again. I liked him too...and his hat. :)

The fiorst one ended with plenty of room for a sequel. As for the content of such it is all up to the imagination, could do anything...endless possibilities.

Tell me about it. I have gone over several scenarios in my head. The series would be easy to pick up after. The movie on the other hand might be difficult. Then again Joss Whedon said that the two were not really related.

I think the ending of the first one left things wide open for a sequel and I would welcome one...the possibilites are endless...but I won't say what I would put in oen exactly..because I shoul just use my ideas to write my own movies

absolutely and I believe that Joss meant it to be that way. I believe that he wants to continue to please his fans and give us all hope. Joss has always been good too the fans. There is also so many unanswered questions that fans have about the origins of certain characters. Plus, Mal even refers to the 8 month time perios that River and Simon were on the ship. I am sure there is much more that went on while they were there. The possibilities are endless. I think the series could continue to take place before the movie and after.
