Silly question... what is the exclamation point for next to the + and - ???

It's to report abuse. If you find something offensive, or in breach of the guidelines. You can report anything, and generally it helps if you do. Doesn't happen often, but there are occasional things that do need to be pointed out to myLot for quality purposes, and keeping the site clean for the rest of us.
