Single Parenting Help  

i would focus more on the ground rule setter. i am not a single parent although sometimes i feel like one because i do everything. but anyway i usually try to be the good guy and it has only came back to bite me in the a**. my husband is the rule setter so to say and my kids seem to have more respect for him. they try walking all over me but yet they walk on tip toes around him. there is plenty of time to be the good guy but you have to make sure the grounds of the rules are set first. good luck to you.

I was a single mother of two up untill a year and a half ago. I had set the ground rules way early with my kiddos simply buy talking to them. They knew that when mommy said something and it was not done then they did get a punishment and that was all there was to it. It could be as simple as taking a toy away. But there was always a punishment. I also made special time for each one on one. we could do whatever they wanted with in a financial reason. Most of the summer our saturdays were spent at the library and then to the park with a picnic. It is hard and there is no simple reason or pattern to follow you just have to find your way.Sorry i hope it all works for you.
