I grew up Catholic, and even though I don't associate with any organized religion anymore, I have a deep sentimentality for Lent. In fact, I usually still give up certain vices during Lent, mainly because in our indulgent and excessive culture I believe it does me good to consciously go without for spiritual reasons. I fast regularly, as well. So, the original question: Mylotters, did you indulge on Fat Tuesday? And if you're practicing, what are you giving up for Lent??
I'm pregnant, so the fun stuff is already gone. No caffeine, very little chocolate, no soda, no junk food, no cigarettes, no alcohol, no street drugs ;-)... I'm virtually an ascetic! What about you?

yes here in Philippines people are so dedicated to catholic practice, since we are the only catholic country in Asia..
but me, personally i don't need to go to church and be in the state of deliverance or to be able to understand the true meaning of Lenten season,
i do it by within me, than showing people your practicing it but deep in your heart its no done by all will.. only carried by the traditions or just because everyone who you knew indulge in it.. i manage my own decisions to terminate some disliking attitudes and some things that are negative for me...
hey, good luck of your pregnancy! ii am glad it is in you and a gift that will live and breathe in this world, for now living in you, life being with you and someday will live this world and next year will be with you, to have lent together so good luck..^_^
