Do you like yaoi?  

I love yaoi, Gravitation is my favorite.

I'm cool with yaoi. They sometimes turn out pretty cool, like "Death Note". And "Ai No Kusabi"?

But I was read one it called "Wild Rock" Its nice yaoi book. Almost clean. ^^ And so romantic

I like shonen ai, and ever addicted to yaoi...
But now, the only yaoi collection that i keep is deathnote n hikago doujin, and the other... i dump them... T-T...
but i still have a lot of shonen ai, my most fave shonen ai is Chou ni naru hi by sumomo yumeka...

yeah i like it. well most of the girls do. XD i even attend yaoi conventions for that. i have some manga and anime collections of anime. its funny, how a boy blushes whenever his lover comes.

I think Yaoi is the intense version of shounen ai. Because based from what I heard from my friend, yaoi has much hardcore scenes while shounen ai is just depicting a deeper friendship between 2 guys.

Yaoi (???) is a publishing genre, which originated in Japan and often encompasses manga, dojinshi, anime, and fan art. It focuses on homosexual relationships between male characters and is generally sexually explicit.

Some Westerners consider yaoi to be synonymous with shonen-ai or BL, which contains similar themes; however by definition this is incorrect, and shonen-ai material is not sexually explicit. The yaoi phenomenon has spread beyond Japan; yaoi material has also now been published in America and Indonesia, to name a few places.

The most common question in the world for people like me - and the answer is pretty obvious: YES, I do like yaoi.

For some reason, I just got addicted to them years back, where Kurama-Hiei/Hiei-Kurama fanfiction were utterly famous around school. However, the reason is not as superficial as others may think - that it's merely for the pleasure of seeing two guys making out - no, not at all. The reason behind why such thing interest me, aside from the fact that I am a female and does not know much about the opposite gender, is that it's rare to see a couple of the same gender sharing the same feelings and/or emotions about love and everything else. I personally believe that it is a marvel for us human beings to engage into homosexuality, and not to be influenced by the norms established for time immemorial. It only proves one thing - humans, especially those exposed to the facts of yaoi/BL/shounen-ai, have ranked up higher; acquired open-mindedness that makes us totally different from other species.

I've come across several yaoi manga wherein some have solid plots, while others were simply made for the sake of pleasure of seeing two guys naked. Fujiyama Hyouta, for one, makes these multi-chaptered mangas that have solid plots, strong characters and interesting twists. Most of the themes of her works include angst, confusion, adventure - all of them speaking about the realities of life.

These being said, I believe yaoi manga-kas have told the whole world that yaoi is not just the counterpart of yuri, but a slice of the truth revolving the whole mankind - may they be willing to accept it or not.

Shounen ai refers to love between two men (shoujo ai is the term for two girls). It's usually innocent and pure and one-sided.

Yaoi refers to male/male action (yuri is the term for female/female action). It's usually full of angst and it can get hentai (hentai's the japanese word for pervert).

Shounen ai is sweet, but I prefer yaoi. I love angsty male/male love. ^^
